Dog Waste Bins within CBW and the Airfield

It has come to my attention that dog users are frustrated by the lack of dog waste bins or the lack of emptying the dog waste bins within CBW and the airfield. The 4 x dog waste bins within the married quarters area off camp and the 2 x dog waste bins on camp are contracted to be emptied by ISS who work on behalf of Carillion Amey (CA). If you notice that the bins are full please report this issue to either the QM, RQMS GSU or HIVE who will in turn report it to CA. If they are full then please take your own dog waste back home and deposit in your own black bin; do not discard in the local area which is becoming common practice.

The 2 x dog waste bins on the airfield have no contract and they were only emptied by 2 x volunteers who have since ceased to complete this role due to the conditions in and around the bin by dog users. We are in the process of setting up a contract with a local disposal agency but this may take time. In the meantime may I request that all dog owners again take their own dog waste home and deposit in their own black bins; do not throw dog waste bags into the undergrowth.

A gentle reminder to all dog owners that they are responsible for clearing up their own dog mess. Anyone seen in breach of this responsibility may be reported to the local authorities. The airfield is not owned by DIO or UDC so they are not responsible for the dog bins in this area and they have to be emptied via volunteer means or by using CBW money that could be spent better elsewhere.

May I also remind dog owners that the camp is not a thoroughfare to the airfield but if you are using the camp that all dogs are kept on a lead and again you take responsibility for any dog waste.

Please help us to help you!

Station Notice

A gentle reminder to all dog owners

Whilst walking your beloved pet through Carver Barracks please ensure that you
keep it on a lead at all times.

There have been incidents of dogs running out in front of motor vehicles and cyclists.

It does not bear thinking about the emotional consequences to the pet owner and the innocent driver of the vehicle or the rider of a bike.

Thank you co-operation.

SFA Customer Satisfaction Survey

DIO have appointed a new supplier to carry out our SFA customer satisfaction telephone surveys. In future, Opinion Research Service (ORS) will be carrying out these surveys on DIOs behalf.

Under the new contract they will be increasing the number of UK SFA occupants surveyed each month from 200 to 500. This will provide more reliable data to inform future planning. The overseas survey will also recommence in October 2017.

Customer feedback helps shape the future delivery of Service Family Accommodation.

If ORS contacts you, please take the opportunity to let DIO hear your views.
Please rest assured that your Soldiers personal data will  remain safe and secure

Please ensure your Soldiers are aware of the survey being conducted as they may be called and requested to participate.

Storybook Soldier

What is Storybook Soldiers?
As every Forces’ family knows, separation from family and loved ones can be one of the most difficult things to cope with during an operational deployment.
Storybook Soldiers is a FREE scheme which provides a link between parents who are away on operations and their children.
Soldiers are recorded reading a bedtime story for their children to listen to.
Music and sound effects are added and the finished disk is really special.
The recording session takes no longer than 15 minutes. The soldier chooses a
story from the approved books (this list is quite exhaustive : you probably have
the book at home which you can bring with you)
How do I make a Storybook CD for my child?
Just contact Nic @ HIVE and make an appointment - 01223 203772
