CO 33 Engineer Regiment (EOD) : Message to families

On 7th November, the Defence Secretary announced in Parliament that many military sites will be disposed of in the future. This includes Carver Barracks which has a scheduled disposal of 2031. Units based here will be relocated to another station, the whereabouts of which will be determined over the next 18 months. We've been promised plenty of warning but in short… nothing will happen anytime soon.

Tumble Tots

Recommended by a lady at Carver Barracks, Tumble Tots is designed to develop children's physical skills of agility, balance, co-ordination and climbing, through the use of brightly coloured equipment.  The programme is structured to develop children's positive personality traits including confidence and self-esteem.

Each weekly session combines fun, excitement and challenge in a safe and caring environment. All sessions use unique equipment and are run by staff specially trained to get the best out of your child. It is structured according to the different ages and stages of a child's development.
Child psychologists and educators agree that a structured programme in movement should be a part of every child's education.

MANDATORY REGISTRATION OF SERVICE DEPENDANTS WITH DISABILITIES AND/OR ADDITIONAL NEEDS

It is the responsibility of the head of household to register any member of his/her family that has a disability and or additional needs (including education) with his Unit Welfare Officer.  This is a simple process that takes very little time, however its completion is extremely important in order for your family’s circumstances to be understood, taken into consideration and supported by the Chain of Command when deciding future assignments (postings).

A common name for this registration is called AGAI 108 which is the main document of Reference, a copy of which can be obtained on request from your Chief Clerk or Welfare Team.

So, what will Your Assignment (Posting) Officer in the Army Personnel Centre (APC) do?  They will ensure that:
Subject to the over riding needs of the Army, that account will be taken of the personal preferences of the serving person and their family’s needs.

There is more help that can be afforded your family but this can only be done provided that you are registered.

If in doubt ask your Welfare Team for advice, and if you need to register do so promptly.

Recruit for Spouses

National businesses are being invited to support the British Forces and their families, through the not-for-profit organisation, Recruit For Spouses.
Recruit For Spouses has been set up to bridge the gap between national employers and a growing band of service spouses who are seeking to re-enter the workplace, after subjugating their careers due to their partners' numerous postings and frequent deployment.

Check out their website for further details and to get in touch.

Bag it & Bin it!

Please remember that it is an offence not to clean up after your dog when you take them for a walk.

Aside from the fact that it's unpleasant and unhygienic, you could end up with a £1,000 fine.

Don't worry, if you can't find a dog waste bin, any black bin will do to dispose of your dog's doings.

If you are aware of habitual offenders, you can report them to Uttlesford District Council to investigate.
