Important Housing Information: Uninhabitable Faults

COSTS BORNE BY THE NATIONAL HOUSING PRIME CONTRACTOR FOR UNINHABITABLE FAULTS IN SFA

  • The contract states that where the cause of re-housing (this includes use of hotels/contact houses/self catering accommodation) from a non-habitable fault at Move-In, a repair or a defect, the contractor shall be responsible for all re-housing costs including subsistence.
  • The permitted allowance for subsistence on the contract is in line with those allowed in JSP 752, currently £26pppd for food.  This money is recovered by the Licensee from the contractor.
  • If CA are not offering to pay subsistence at the appropriate rates individuals should raise a Stage 1 complaint, quoting the contract reference “Booklet 3, Module B, Para 2.17.3” as the authority.
  • Where this has occurred personnel are encouraged to report to their UWO so that this information can be captured and sent on to the MHLO
