The Royal British Legion recently launched its latest campaign Insult to Injury. The campaign calls on the Government to stop injured veterans having to use their military compensation to pay for social care.

In particular, the Legion will be campaigning to ensure that veterans on the War Pension scheme don’t see their compensation award used to pay towards the costs of their social care.

The campaign could see War Pensioners being on average £74 per week better off.

Visit the Legion’s campaign website to find out more and to contact your MP. The Legion is also hoping to hear from people who may be affected themselves or have family members that are – if you’d be happy to share your story, please email insulttoinjury@britishlegion.org.uk
