Teen mental health and emotional wellbeing talks for JFAN parents

Passionate about supporting parents and students, the Joyce Frankland Academy Newport invites parents of all local teenagers to two evenings of professionally and expertly guided talks promoting good teen mental health and emotional wellbeing.
Teenagers Translated is in two parts and offers a definitive guide to all aspects of teenage mental development by experts with over 10 years’ experience.
Talk 1 - Understanding and Surviving Adolescence will take place on Monday 14th October from 7.30 - 10pm.
Talk 2 - Regulating Anxiety, Avoiding Addiction and Building Resilient Teens will take place on Monday 21st October from 7.30 – 10pm.
The course (2 nights for £30 total pp) comes highly recommended, by both parents and teachers, as a practical tool for guiding young minds.  Both talks will take place in the main school hall at Joyce Frankland Academy Newport. Each talk is part of the series and not designed as a standalone so ideally the same parent will attend both talks. Please see the attached flyer for further information.
If you would like to book a place for the talks please contact  Kerinda Trigg if you would like tickets to this event.
Mobile 0781 801 3200

Payment is £30 per adult for the two talks  (£20 if your child attends JFAN or going to from this September)

Armed Forces Covenant : Local Grants Programme

RHQ : Notice

DOGS ON LEADS WHILST USING THE CAMP AS A THOROUGHFARE

All dog owners are reminded that when using the barracks as a thoroughfare to the Airfield or just to walk their dog that they must be kept on the lead at all times. The barracks is a working establishment and although there is currently the ability to enter camp with your dog, it is a risk held by the COs/Head of Establishment should a loose dog cause an incident or accident. Heavy machinery, personnel, civil service employees and civilian employees of the Industry Partner should not be put at risk by a dog not on the lead. It also reduces the chances of dog fouling where individuals blatantly ignore their dog conducting their business and not cleaning up after them.

Failure to comply with the above request will result in access to site for all dog owners (less those living in SFA/SLA on site and those with registered dogs) being denied. Your support in upholding this request is most appreciated and anyone who wishes to discuss the matter further should speak to the QM GSU, Maj Mark Burgess.

DOG WASTE PLACED IN BINS ON CAMP

All dog owners are reminded that dog waste should only be placed in the dog waste bins at Peverell’s, the back gate or in the General Waste bins (clearly marked) on site. Dog waste should not be placed in any of the recycling bins (clearly marked) as the council will refuse to empty them and charge the Military for contaminated waste. If the contamination of recycling bins continues then the use of the camp as a thoroughfare to the airfield will cease.
